C.H. Booth Library “Modeling for Makers” Event
Our jewelry will be the main prize at the April 18th benefit to bring state of the art 3D printers to the Newtown Library. These printers will aide in the teaching of this important new technology.
What You Win!
This 18k white gold pendant has a striking 4.36 carat blue zircon adorned by a triple row of 115 brilliant cut diamonds. It even has diamonds encrusting the bail. Valued at $3,300.
How Was It Made?
This blue zircon and diamond pendant was made using CAD/CAM technology, which stands for Computer Aided Design & Computer Aided Manufacturing.
First the pendant was designed on computer software. Special care was taken to fit the mounting around this unique blue zircon gemstone.
Next the computer design was turned into a wax model using a 3D printer. The wax is then used to create the 18 karat white gold and diamond pendant.
